"Shelved"? Possibly, and that's unfortunate. I put a lot of effort into this album and there's a label reviewing the materials now (a dear friend I worked with years ago may release it). A few things have happened which I may or may not address. I won't settle for paying to manufacture and distribute this myself, release it as a download only or make cd-r copies. I've made peace, although it pains me, on the reality that this fully complete album may never be heard. I hope that a certain heavy metal journalist is pleased with meddling in my music and business and the damage he has inflicted.

Long story short: Δωθηκε καποιο early promo σε καποιον reviewer και η κριτικη που εγραψε ηταν (πολυ?) αρνητικη με αποτελεσμα , η Cruz να "αδειασει" την κυκλοφορια. ΑΠΙΣΤΕΥΤΟΣ αντι-επαγγελματισμος απο τη μερια τους. Κριμα.

Απαράδεκτο πραγματικά.. αν και νομίζω η κριτική είναι πρόφαση.. απλά δεν τους άρεσε και δε θέλουν να το κυκλοφορήσουν πιστεύοντας ότι θα πάει άπατο... Για να δούμε αν θα έχουμε και συνέχεια..

I sent one fan a copy of the new Onward album for review. Ryan LaMar has been supportive since 2000 and it's customary that he gets an advance of everything. Enjoy.

"Let’s get this one out of the way. I was a friend of Mike’s. I miss him and his vocal style. But, I also know he loved music enough to appreciate seeing Onward (and hopefully, Crescent Shield) continue on. Let’s call this Onward MkII (or MkIII if you count the Where Evil Follows band).

Toby has gone completely wild like a toddler given a Red Bull. Seriously – neverending guitar mastery in the vein of Cacophony. Except you get two guitar’s worth of insanity from one dude. Rob adds his Blitz Ellsworth flair and gives us some anthems to sing along to. Damn… the hair on the back of my neck is standing. Lots of fun stuff here. “Vicious Beauty” kicks off the album, and it mows you down with Cacophony-esque wildness. Actually, that’s not quite right – it outright obliterates you beyond anything Becker and Friedman ever did. A couple of tracks later, you get a spot-on Onward style tune that fits perfectly in line with the classic sound. “Silhouette” brings back that magic from Evermoving and Reawaken that made me a fan 20 years ago. I absolutely love this tune. Right after this is “Ring Around the Rosary.” This track pumps up the speed again while nicely blending in a catchy chorus against the frenetic riffing. It’s one you can raise your fist and sing along to like you were at a Loudness concert. And seriously, it gets even faster with Neptune’s Revenge – think of the insane speed picking from Megadeth’s “Killing’s My Business” album, but much more mature songwriting with tempo changes melodies. The album finishes with another worthy anthem, “Onward We Sail.” Here’s another one to pump your fist to while singing “Pushing Onward! Onward we sail!”

And so, Onward we sail with a reinvigorated Onward reminding us why 80s metal will never die".

Πάντως εδώ διαβάζω μια καλή κριτική του δίσκου. Σίγουρα δεν είναι αυτή στην οποία αναφέρεται ο Toby.

I do have a label that has agreed to release the new Onward album. I'm not going to announce it just yet- but I've worked with them in the past and it was a great experience. Keep your fingers crossed!

Εγώ μίλησα μαζί του και κανόνισα και κριτική στο αγαπημένο σας FS.
Οι ανακοινώσεις για το νέο label θα γίνουν από εκεί που πρέπει, εγώ δεν μπορώ να πω τίποτα παραπάνω για την ώρα.

Επίσης ο Toby ψάχνει label για το βινύλιο, όπως θα δείτε και στο σχετικό post.

Και εγώ θα ήθελα να το δω το review, ειδικά όταν διαβάζω Toby να γράφει αυτό:

Σημειώνω και πάλι πως σίγουρα η επίμαχη κρητική ΔΕΝ είναι αυτή που αναφέρω εδώ:
viewtopic.php?p=64604#p64604 -αυτήν την πόσταρε ο ίδιος ο Toby με φουλ θετικό πρόσημο και από πλευράς του, άσε που το κείμενο ΔΕΝ θάβει-.

Πάντως στοιχηματίζω το επόμενο κουλουράκι που δεν θα φάω με το φρέντο μου πως είμαι σχεδόν σίγουρος σε ποιον αναφέρεται. Για το μέσο πάντως είμαι απόλυτα σίγουρος.

Από την άλλη όμως κάτι δηλώσεις για πρώτο άλμπουμ Annihilator και παραπομπές σε Bobby Blitz θυμάμαι να παίζουν από Toby και ανησυχώ. Για Onward μιλάμε έτσι;

υγ. Άλλαξα και τη χρονιά στο topic από 2021 σε 2022 μιας και ο καιρός πέρασε και άλμπουμ δεν είδαμε ακόμα.

Σε αλλο ποστ λεει κατι του στυλ "it was more of a production thing rarher than a music thing" και οτι του ιδιου του αρεσε η παραγωγη, αλλά οχι στην εταιρια.

Τρεχα γυρευε. Το σημαντικο ειναι οτι μαλλον θα βγει τελικα. Μας φλομωσε drama ομως ο θειος...
