Συνεχίζοντας στο ίδιο μοτίβο ("εξού και στουπέτσι", "από την πόλη έρχομαι και στην κορυφή οδοντόπαστα"), όταν έμενα Αγγλία είχε ένα καταπληκτικό Ταϋλανδέζικο που με 2.50 λίρες έπαιρνες μεριδάρα πάπια με noodles. Τι οργασμική πιατάρα ήταν αυτή. Είχα ξεπαστρέψει σμήνη σε ένα χρόνο.

Για την μπάντα εξέφρασα άποψη. Τα φωνητικά του Πρίγκηπος παραείναι καλτ για τα γούστα μου αλλά το κομμάτι είναι μια χαρά, παρόλα αυτά, αν το ξαναβάλω ποτέ θα είναι για τα φωνητικά αλλά όχι για την ομορφιά τους αν με εννοείτε.

Για να δώσουμε λίγο context στον Ζίππο που διψάει για Ιερή Γνώση θα κάνω μια μίνι ανασκόπηση.

ACID RAIN = Μπάντα του παλαιού μέλους του φόρουμ KOYMHS (ή ΚΟUMHS) ο οποίος είναι/ήταν και ο τραγουδιστής. Ο Κούμης λοιπόν (καλή του ώρα όπου κ αν είναι) όταν το καυτό ελληνικό επικό ατσάλι ήταν στα πάνω του κ κόχλαζε, αποφάσισε να επαναδραστηριοποιήσει τους ACID RAIN, παλιά ροκ μπάντα του, και να τνη κάνει "repurpose" για epic metal καταστάσεις. Λόγω του ότι η μπάντα ήταν στο Βόλο, αποφάσισαν να γράψουν ένα demo/ep που θεματολογικά καταπιάνονταν με τους Κένταυρους του Πηλίου. Μέχρι εδώ όλα καλά;

Το όλο τζέρτζελο με ACID RAIN δεν εχει να κάνει με το καλλιτεχνικό/μουσικό κομμάτι, αλλά με τις επικές ατάκες που έχουν εκστομιστεί κατα καιρούς από KOYMHS σε παλιό FORGOTTEN SCROLL αλλά και IRC. Ορισμένες από αυτές πήγαιναν κάπως έτσι (αν κ δεν είναι ακριβώς):

- "Θα σου σπάσω τη κεφάλα με τη βαλίστρα μου"
- "Θα σε ποδοπατήσω με τις οπλές μου" (κένταυρος γαρ)
- Και μια άλλη που περιελάμβανε κάτι σχετικό με ανάγνωση του "απολιτίκιου του Αγίου Νεκταρίου"

Κάπου έχω ένα log με επικές ατάκες από IRC (όχι μόνο απο KOYMHS). Αν κάποια στιγμή το βρω θα το ποστάρω να ρίξουμε το ιντερνετ.

ACID RAIN - Revenge

Following the general rise of the Greek metal scene recently, Epic metal seem to be on the rise too as new bands start to grow in the land. Acid Rain is not actually a new band, they were initially created in the mid-90's but for their own reasons they soon afterwards disbanded. This year they re-united and this one-songer promo is the result of their reunion. One song is of course far too few to understand everything about a band but I'll try to give you an idea of what is going on.

The promo includes the song named ?Revenge? and it refers to a battle, mythical battle actually in which centaurs where defeated by men and vanished. Their music brings to my mind their other mighty compatriots, Reflection, with mid-tempo paces , many but not tiring changes and a deep, barbaric voice which although its not perfect it suits the song very well and once their singer starts gaining more experiences I am sure that it will improve more. Irrespective to it's 9-minute length the song is quite pleasant to listen to and with its clever changes and pompous refrain it gains the sympathy of the listener. The production of the promo sounds a bit weak but although this is not a great deal for an epic release, the band has already realized it by its self and is working harder on this matter on the demo CD they are currently working on!

All that is left for me to do is to wish good luck and progression to the band for their new start and I hope that they will soon realize the potential, which they show on this promo.

ACID RAIN - War In The Sky

So.. just a few months after the release of their promo Acid Rain strike again with their brand new Demo. I am happy to see that Acid Rain have indeed worked hard during this time and managed to built upon their earlier work, some minor disadvantages that were identified in their promo are now long gone and forgotten.

The demo features three tracks, the self titled, `Revenge` which also appeared on the promo and `Time Has Come`. `War In The Sky` is a really nice up-tempo song bringing some how to mind Manilla Road's `Defender` mostly due to Antonis way of singing. By the way I would like to point out that Antonis vocals seem to be a lot better than the promo prooving at least some hard work employed by him on this aspect. We've said everything about `Revenge` so there's nothing additional to add here, just check the review of their promo and rush to buy it. The 7-minute `Time Has Come` follows which is probably the best song of the demo, from the intro of the song to the very last note an epic feeling is spread everywhere. The way I see it is that Epic is not something that may be acquired via training or studying, others have it, others don't and these guys fucking do have it! The time has come for the Centaurs to attack and kill, listen to thir prince guiding them through the battle. Fucking great!
