German Prog Metal from the 90s

Το γερμανικό 90s Prog πάντα με γοήτευε, αφου το έζησα ο ίδιος εκείνη την εποχή. Παντος εφτιαξα αυτό το βίντεο την περασμένη εβδομάδα. Φυσικά υπάρχουν πολλά περισσότερα συγκροτήματα, ποια είναι τα αγαπημένα σας από τη δεκαετία;

Η λίστα είναι καταπληκτική και οι επιλογές εξαιρετικές. Έπρεπε να τρέξω με την ταχύτητα του φωτός να ανοίξω τόπικ με το που την ανέβασες αλλά γενικά τις τελευταίες μέρες τρέχω πανικόβλητος εξαιτίας της μίξης του AFTERIMAGE άλμπουμ και έχω μείνει λίγο πίσω γενικά.

Ετοίμασα όμως και μια εκπομπή με υλικό κυρίως από Γερμανία και κάποια ακόμα ευρωπαϊκά. Η εκπομπή θα ανέβει σύντομα.

Θα στηρίξω το τόπικ και την κίνηση σου κάνοντας αναφορά σε ξεχωριστές μπάντες και κυκλοφορίες. Θα ξεκινήσω με αυτό που έγραψα στο facebook όμως, έτσι σαν πρώτο σχόλιο.

One of my favorite genres. And one of the main reasons I am still hooked into Metal, It is difficult to describe how much I love this kind of stuff and how bands and releases from the 90s German Prog Metal globe have became a main part of my overall aesthetic in music. An era of pure inspiration with bands to be of course deeply inspired by the US Prog Metal stuff of the time -and a little earlier- through the exchanging that was happening within the underground, but also with huge roots to the 70s German Prog scene, the Krautrock and the similar. I would pay a fortune in gold to be in that tour with Psychotic Waltz and Life Artist for example. You see back on day on both sides of the ocean the bands were trying break the limits offering music that was different but inspired and from the heart. So sad the fact that today similar examples are simply not presented in the current Metal scene, when we simply have to face swords, leather, chains and goats. The list is EXCELLENT. I adore it!
